in silver or gold studded with semi-precious stones ones
that can be converted to bracelets and pendants after the festival.
For children, a variety of rakhis made of fur or cartoon and
fictional heroes are available.

No, not the dreaded Mumbai or Dubai version of the Big Brother.
But a brother, sisters here in Patna dote upon. That is if one
goes by the mad rush of sisters at the many stalls here that
have stocked up on rakhis that have a miniature photograph of
the Bihar strongmans smiling face in glorious technicolour
embedded bang in their middles.

As I ponder over the upcoming festival of Raksha Bandhan,
my mind flips through the war-torn images of Lebanon. Imagine
living in fear every other day of your life! Must be horrible.
I do not intend to question the festive mood in India when thousands
of innocent lives are being consumed by war and violence.
