 Two things that scare me...

Two things that really scare me are darkness and the sound of the wind. And when these two come together, I do nothing but shiver and quiver under my blanket.
Last night, I slept really late, as I was reading some book. At around 3 am, I woke up to a strong wind, which caused all the doors and windows to open and close, making a lot of noise. Dad was struggling to close the windows all by himself. I got out of my bed, finally, to offer him some help. This is when my strange, weird imagination came into play. I looked behind me, to see as if some ghostly figure was standing around. We finally managed to close all the windows. Now it was time for me to go back to bed. I felt terribly congested in my room with all the windows closed. So I opened one of the windows and saw that a labourer couple was struggling to sleep in the strong wind that was blowing all over. I felt sorry for them. They, who usually sleep outside, were wondering what to do. They had a little child who was crying out loud because of fear, I suppose. Then immediately this giant size tree that stood right opposite my house distracted me. It was moving fiercely with all its might. This reminded me of the days when we (my sister and I) as kids used to stay over at my aunt’s house, which overlooked a huge graveyard. I would often look into the graveyard and ask my aunt and sister all kinds of weird questions.
I didn’t want to scare myself any further. So I started reasoning on the lines of science. I questioned myself as to why such strong winds blow – and remembered that it is due to the uneven motion of the earth. I don’t know how far I’m right but this is what I read in geography years back. What’s the speed of the wind and would it sweep me off if I stood in its way? Is it the fury of Mother Nature? All these questions were running through my mind.
